Empowering Refugees with Hope and Dignity
At Jom Serve, our heart is in serving refugees in Malaysia with compassion and respect. We believe that every individual is made in the image of God, no matter where you are from and what brought you here. Our mission is to come alongside refugees to help them transform into thriving individuals, families, and communities.
Our Commitments:
Building enduring relationships.
Collaborating with others. It takes all of us!
Offering carefully selected programs to care for the individuals.
Nurturing holistic growth in refugee communities.
To honor the culture and language of the people we serve and our host community.
Our Beliefs:
All men, women, and children have inherent dignity and value,
and are made in the image of God.
We stand against racism and xenophobia, recognizing that refugees seek safety and a better life out of necessity, not choice.
This journey to dignity and hope is not one we walk alone; it requires the collective effort of private sectors, NGOs, civil society, refugee communities, and governments, each contributing their unique skills, access, and capacities. Together, our unified actions protect and support refugees, working towards lasting solutions.
Our history:
JomServe has been providing support and advocacy for refugees since 2008. We began by building deep friendships with refugees and migrant workers alike, which led to the creation of Nations Learning Centre. Through many volunteers and hours of efforts, significant trust was built and allowed our team to grow and opportunities to expand.

Covid-19 and Beyond
Throughout COVID-19 lockdowns and the slow recovery afterwards, Jom Serve has continued to aid many refugees who have lost employment and the means to care for daily essentials. We partnered with other NGOs and the local government to provide weekly food packages and monetary subsidy to support refugees throughout the pandemic.
Since COVID-19, Jom Serve’s support for refugee women and children increased significantly. Through the creation of women community groups, prenatal classes, pregnancy support, and friendship, we desire to see them grow in confidence and flourish in wholistic ways that take into account their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
